Since many people are being affected by COVID-19, many people are being told to stay at home and avoid going outside. Staying in quarantine is definitely not the most fun thing in the world, that is why I have made a list of things to do that might cure your boredom.
1. Read as many books as you can in week
If you’re a bookworm or want to improve your reading skills, here’s a challenge for you. Challenge yourself to read as many books in a week without skipping any pages. You can start off by reading books you own in your own home. If you don’t have many books at home, you can purchase e-books and read them.

2. Create artwork
It’s nice to draw or paint once in a while. It helps calm the brain. If you got a bunch of pencils and paints laying around your house, use them! Don’t let them go to waste. The best part about art is that you can create anything you want. There are many inspirational art work pieces you can use to help create your masterpiece. You may be surprised how well you can draw. Drawing and painting tutorials are always available on the internet. If you don’t have art supplies, try digital art. You can download free drawing apps and start creating. If you’re not interested in painting or drawing, you can always colour. Print out colouring pages on the internet and start colouring.

3. Start a blog
A pandemic doesn’t happen often in a lifetime. You can start a blog and write about your experiences while in quarantine. Inform people about the dangers of COVID-19 and what might happen if you don’t follow the rules. Make lists of things people can do during quarantine. You can also write down your thoughts about COVID-19 and how it affected your daily life.

4. Learn new things
Tutorials are always available on the internet. There are many things you can learn from just watching tutorials. You can improve in a skill that you’d like to perfect or try something totally new like game designing. Or maybe you’d like to practice a new language. Since we have the technology to learn more things, we might as well take use our resources.

5. Bake or cook
I’m sure everyone likes to bake or cook once in a while. It is very calming and nice to eat a delicious dish after all you’re hard work. Here are some ideas:
– Try a baking or cooking challenge.
– Cook your favourite dishes or dishes you’ve seen in movies.
– Try baking or cooking family recipes.
– There are so many simple and inspiring ideas you can try from the internet.
– You can also try making a dish with ingredients you’ve never eaten or cooked with before. Get creative with it.

6. Play an instrument
If you have an old instrument laying around in your house, try playing it. Playing an instrument can be very therapeutic and calming. It’s also nice to be able to learn an instrument if you like to express your emotions through art and having to be able to play a whole song on your instrument is probably one of the best feelings ever. Playing instruments also pass the time quickly.

7. Catch up on school or house work.
Now this might be a very boring idea but it has to get done. To make this more interesting and fun here are some ideas you can try:
– See how fast and how much work you can complete your work
– Do your work with the help of someone else
– Listen to music
– List your top 3 priorities
– Treat yourself for a snack after you’ve completed a task

8. Chat with friends and family
Being alone with no human contact for a long period of time can be overwhelming and boring to some people. Talking to your friends or family can make you feel happy again. Talk about your experiences of being in quarantine or ask them ideas of what to do during quarantine. There are also a lot of online websites to connect with your friends to play games or watch movies.

9. Binge watch shows and movies
If you have time, catch up on your favourite movies and shows. Quarantine has given us a lot of time in our hands so we might as well use it. Although, I wouldn’t recommend watching to much because you can get bored of that too.

10. Imagine
Imagine what you would be doing if you weren’t in quarantine. You can write down a list of what you’d like to do after quarantine. Quarantine has taught us to be grateful in life and to live life to the fullest. Maybe you won’t be able to do much now during quarantine but, you will be able to do what you want after quarantine is over and perhaps appreciate life more.

I hope this list gave you an idea of things you can do. I hope this ideas at least made you a little less bored during quarantine. Have fun and stay safe.
